My Journey: A Path of Service and Spirituality
As I reflect on my life’s journey, I am reminded of the wise words of Sadhguru, “The ultimate goal of life is not to be comfortable, but to be absolutely involved.” Born and raised in the sacred city of Kashi, I, Preeti Verma, was drawn to the world of saints and sages from a young age. My father, a spiritual seeker himself, would often take me to satsangs at various spiritual centers, sowing the seeds of spirituality in my heart.
However, it was in 2019 that my spiritual journey truly began when I encountered Sadhguru. His teachings and the practice of Isha Yoga transformed my life, and I felt an insatiable hunger to explore the depths of my being. As I traversed the sacred landscapes of India, visiting revered pilgrimages like Badrinath, Chitrakoot, and Rishikesh, I encountered numerous sadhus who left an indelible mark on my heart.
Their selfless devotion, wisdom, and kindness inspired me to serve them in any way I could. Yet, I couldn’t help but notice the chronic health issues many of them suffered from, often in silence. It was as if the world had forgotten that these spiritual giants, too, had physical bodies that required care.
One day, during my meditation, a spark ignited within me – a resolve to provide free medical treatment to sadhus across India. It was a daunting task, but I knew I wasn’t alone. Sadhguru’s blessings and the support of like-minded individuals converged to form Sadhu Seva Ishwar Seva, a mission dedicated to serving these spiritual masters.
As I embark on this journey, I am reminded that true involvement is not just about serving others but also about transforming ourselves. With each step, I am humbled by the realization that the ultimate goal of life is not just to seek comfort but to be absolutely involved in the lives of others.
